I have been into crafting for as long as I can remember. Even when I was a small child I made things for my dolls and often made gifts for my family. As an adult I still find that I have the need to create things. When I have been working really hard, it seems to revitalize me if I take some time out and just be creative!
I used to really like dressmaking and still enjoy it but you need quite a large space and packing every thing away all the time so that the family could have dinner lessened my enjoyment of it. A while back I took up scrapbooking and find that it is a great way to pass time and without taking up too much room. Actually I can spend way too many hours involved in scrapbooking and papercrafts but that’s only because it’s so enjoyable. It’s a bit like doing a puzzle where you get deeply involved and don’t even notice time passing. I enjoy building up the picture piece by piece until eventually you finish up with a great looking page to display your photos or mementos.
I’m not sure how I came across this but I have discovered electronic craft cutters. I was unaware that they existed before. They are a desktop cutting tool that cuts things out of paper and other media. Some use predesigned images on cartridges and others come with software packages so you can easily design your own cutting files. If like papercrafting of any kind I’m sure these would be a great asset. I can’t wait to get my hands on one; I’m trying to decide of these has will suit me best. I’ve narrowed it down to the Silhouette vs Cricut. Each have their own pros and cons and dedicated fan base but mostly for a papercrafter they are going to save a huge amount of time and let you enjoy yourself and be more creative. It’s on my wish list!
